I was delighted to join BAT as Chief People Officer on 1 November 2023, having held various senior HR leadership roles at multinational companies throughout my career.
I started my career in HR almost 30 years ago and have always been passionate about building inclusive cultures and diverse workplaces where people can thrive and perform at their best. It is an exciting time to be part of the Management Board of an organisation which is truly global and as dynamic as BAT.
Immediately prior to joining BAT, I was a Global Head of Human Resources at Fresenius Medical Care, based in Bad Homburg, Germany. There I established the global HR function and developed and implemented the company’s first global people strategy, servicing more than 125,000 employees worldwide.
I’ve been lucky enough to work in many places across Europe, as well as in the U.S. and the UAE. My global career has spanned various sectors such as healthcare, financial services and government. These experiences have influenced my development as a person and as a leader and enable me to create best-in-class strategy in human resources. I love to work with truly diverse teams across the globe and am confident that the value I bring can help accelerate the transformation journey of BAT.
A Better Tomorrow™
The opportunity to have a real impact and contribute to delivering BAT’s purpose to build A Better Tomorrow ™ for all stakeholders is a great motivation for me personally. Our employees have a vital role in this journey and the overall success of the company, therefore shaping the people side of the business and our culture for the best outcomes is something I will always drive with all my passion and energy.
Nationality: German
I love to cook and to entertain family and friends together with my husband. Food is a great way to learn more about the culture of any country or region and I keep exploring this world. While my own competitive sports days are in the past, I still like to keep fit. I also follow various sports, like tennis, soccer, American football, and ice hockey, especially the teams from the cities I have lived in. Living in London does not only add to my sports team roster, but also gives me the opportunity to enjoy the great arts and culture scene.
