How we’re becoming a multi-category Enterprise of the Future

11 JULY 2022

Our Finance and Transformation Director Tadeu Marroco discussed BAT’s transformation with leading financial publication The CFO this week.

In the video interview , Tadeu highlights BAT’s purpose to deliver A Better Tomorrow™ by reducing the health impact of our business. He pointed to our progress on our ambitions to:

  •  have 50 million consumers of our non-combustible products by 2030; and
  •  reach £5 billion New Category revenues by 2025

Tadeu also discusses BAT’s ESG targets and the progress we’re making in decarbonising our operations and collaborating with suppliers to help reduce their carbon emissions.

He also highlights our external ESG recognition, including our inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for 20 years and being named as a Financial Times Climate Leader for the past two.

“Our purpose is very clear: we are building A Better Tomorrow™ by reducing the health impact of our business”, Tadeu said. “This translates into a positive impact for society and the sustainability of our business. For us, sustainability is front and centre in everything we do.”

Tadeu also tells interviewer Aoife Morgan how our transformation is seeing BAT become an agile, multi-category Enterprise of the Future.

Tadeu was interviewed as part of The CFO’s ‘CFO Notebook’ series, which focuses on “senior finance leaders, the challenges they’re facing and the steps they’re taking to address them.”
