BAT recently held its first ever global digital gathering, bringing together our employees to connect, engage and be inspired.
The event, called #StrongerTogether, was a cross-functional collaboration which used Microsoft technology to deliver a platform where our 53,000 employees could collaborate online over the course of 24 hours.
A range of pop-up digital events included everything from an exercise class in Russia and a rock concert in Bangladesh to a McLaren-themed Formula 1 quiz and fishing tips from the USA. A fun way of showcasing BAT’s ongoing digital transformation, #StrongerTogether enabled our people to get together, acknowledging their resilience in keeping the business running amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The event encapsulated our BAT ethos, which is about being bold, fast, empowered, responsible and diverse to create a future-fit culture at BAT.
Marina Bellini, our Director of Digital and Information, said: "The #StrongerTogether event was a fantastic example of our digital transformation in action! Connecting the BAT community in an informal, innovative way and showing the diversity, creativity and resilience of our people."
Kingsley Wheaton, Chief Marketing Officer, added: “The Stronger Together event was a 360-degree demonstration of our ethos in action. It was BAT at its best.”
During the event, employees were encouraged to share pictures of themselves to help us build a global selfie map, which will be printed and displayed in our London HQ to celebrate our diversity and global reach.
